Your Hampshire Wedding of the Year 2010 competition

Focal Pix Photography are absolutely over the moon that Jade and Matt's January wedding day is to be entered into Your Hampshire Wedding Magazine's Wedding of the Year 2010 competition!

Last Year we photographed Sam and Rob's August wedding which won the competition, so we have everything crossed that Jade and Matt's wedding is equally successful!

The couple were married on the sunniest day in January at The Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst. The hotel is set right in the heart of the New Forest next to a beautiful river which offers up plenty of photo opportunities.

Come and Meet us at The Balmer Lawn Wedding Fair

Focal Pix Photography are really looking forward to meeting couples planning their 2011 / 2012 wedding days at the Balmer Lawn Spring Wedding Fair on 21st March between 11am and 4.30pm in Brockenhurst.

Entrance is Free, (and there is a hog roast available for just £5 - yummy!)

Booking for Highcliffe Castle, All Saints Dibden and Forest Lodge

Focal Pix Photography are looking forwards to capturing Helen and James multi-venued wedding day :O)

The couple who are to be married at Highcliffe Castle, will go on for a blessing at All Saints Church in Dibden, before celebrating with friends at the Forest Lodge Hotel in Lyndhurst.

Having two photographers means that we have the flexibility to more easily cover all their wedding venues, including both Helen and James getting ready in the morning in separate locations, and also hopefully getting some beach and forest shots too!

Pre-Wedding visit to Hotel du Vin

Yesterday Focal Pix Photography met up with Amy and Matt ahead of their April wedding day at Holy Trinity Church at Wonston, a very pretty church set in the Hampshire countryside.

The couple are hoping for some pictures in a local bluebell wood and will then go on to celebrate with friends at Hotel du Vin in Winchester. This luxury boutique hotel has lots of photo opportunities within its courtyard gardens and rooms.

Focus on Highcliffe Castle in Dorset

Highcliffe Castle in Dorset, is a lovely wedding venue set just above Highcliffe Beach, near to Steamer Point nature reserve.

The ceremony takes place in the old Victorian brick built conservatory…

The large leaded windows let in plenty of light :o)

The entrance steps offer a great backdrop for the wedding party…

Couples can walk down the zigzag path to the beach for photographs, a treat holiday makers often enjoy seeing :o)

It would be good to know what the latin inscription on the top of the building says…do let us know! (We think it is something about the view over to the Isle of Wight)

The little maze is a really pretty feature…

Group shots have a dramatic and grand backdrop!

Expansive skies can be captured romantically on the beach…

The range of ancient doorways offer themselves for aged effects

Now that the Grand Hall is complete, couples can hold their wedding reception at the Castle, provided they have their ceremony at 3pm…

Church weddings…

New rulings mean that there is more choice about the church you get married in…

Nowadays just one of you has to have a connection to the parish concerned; baptism, preparation for confirmation, living in the parish for at least 6 months, or attending the church for 6 months are all permissible connections, allowing you to marry. Ask your vicar or visit www.yourchurchwedding.org for more information.
